"There is a rollerblading festival going on under the highway bridge here in Brooklyn" I heard someone saying when we entered the venue. "People jumping over cars, grinding on a truck – you have to see this, it's crazy". Yeah the New York City Street Invite 2011 was an unique experience for everyone involved. Billy O'Neill and Daniel Kinney (founder and organizer of BCSD) don't talk much – they are doers and do things the right and professional way. I guess people recognize this and that's why the NYC Street Invite gathered bladers from all over the world to battle it out on some real street one-of-a-kind obstacles especially created and set-up for this contest. So Billy and Daniel did not only take care of the obstacles for the contest, they also made sure that they've had all permissions and insurances needed for the contest. We at Be-Mag also felt that this contest was going to be a big deal, so we decided to send a team to New York to cover the event properly. But good things take time.

A couple of weeks ago I ended up in Brighton after craving another little trip down south after the weekend adventure that was Nass. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as kind as the weekend before and it seemed we brought Manchester's good old wet weather with us to Brighton.

On the 14th of August the EC Halfpipe Contest went down in Rotterdam, Netherlands. If you appreciate good vert skating – or maybe haven't seen it in a while and want to catch up – you need to check out this edit!

More and more edits are popping up from the NYC Street Invite. Here we've got an edit for you from the Skatelife.TV crew who were also pretty close with their lense to the action that took place under one of Brooklyn's bridges.

Usually ODNY wasn't suppose to cover this competition but a good friend was awesome enough to hook up the media pass. Immediately when looking at the obstacles, the NY Invitational sets it self apart from all other comps. Offering unique spots to skate like an old beat up Cadillac, constructions tubes, U-haul trailer, and a huge dumpster to name a few. Not to mention that this comp was very reminiscent of the old IMYTA competitions. The obstacles were all put together by the craftsmanship of Jose Disla & the C.O. team along with other NY locals that showed up the day of construction to support and offer a helping hand. New York owes such a great competition to the Bernal Heights Collective - a medicinal marijuana shop from San Francisco whom sponsored the events large prize.

After all big competitions around the world there is always those people that were not at the competition itself and that did not witness the madness first hand. For all those people we have the edits! Enjoy the numerous edits documenting this crazy event!

One of the biggest and sickest skate contests located under a Brooklyn bridge is over and out. Alex Broskow is the man of the weekend taking home 5.000$ and the highly coveted title of the first NYC Street invite champion. One of our core filmers Sam DeAngelis is already going through 5GB of footage he gathered over the past weekend. To ease the waiting he comes up with a short trailer for the upcoming be-mag edit. Keep your eyes peeled for more gold clips coming out of his hands.

Hawke Trackler made his way out New York City to document the NYC Invitational 2011 for Be-Mag. In the most competitive city in the world and with a charismatic host, Billy O'Neill, this contest was set up for success. New York has invited 40 of the world's best rollers to battle it out for the NYC Street invite 2011. Be-Mag has sent a few people to document the action straight from 484 Union Avenue in Brooklyn! The heats have been announced for the contest. Everyone who has a rank and name is in New York this weekend. Including some wildcards that should be able to mix things up!

Brian Aragon will be present at the NYC Street Invite this weekend. Matt Morrison of SDSF just published a quick edit on his youtube of Aragon flowing through Escondido skate park. Some neat maneuvers of the Prince in this edit. And we all know he's just warming up...

The wait is over: The NYC Street Invite will go down in New York this weekend. Be-Mag has photo- and videographers on site and we'll try our best to get some live-updates going for you. So check back over the weekend!

With such an odd title, this competition surely was one to remember. Aaron Feinberg and Jeremy Townsend organized this event that brought out some of the best Oregon has to offer.

The Chosen Few Finals have arrived once again and I can say without a doubt it is going to be an epic competition. Skaters all over the world have competed this year at ACF competitions. Every competition has determined the top 10 skaters and they have all earned points. We have organized 9 competitions with local organizers and included another 3 competitions to the series as well.
