Additionally, we have an own area for wakeboarders which is a big pool set up in the Marseille Ice Ring and equipped with huge FISE ramps. On the other side of the ring there will be a new and exiting ramp set up for the rollerbladers. Brian Aragon, Franky Morales and Chris Haffey already arrived in Marseille to check out the location. French Riders Kevin Quintin, Romain Godenaire and Mathias Silhan are also on site and will enter the course today. Daniel Kinney & Kato on WRS ‘Uploaded’ Be-Mag·December 1, 2011The World Rolling Series has introduced a new addition to their already successful competitive format. 'Uploaded', a online video format, allows competitors from around the world to upload their own edits in order to win prizes and points within WRS. It combines the concepts of mass generated edits over the recent years with people who want to compete in a different scope. There are those who express their riding best in front of crowds under the pressure of direct competition, which in the past have been the ones able to succeed in a competitive nature. Now, those who work best in front of the camera at their own pace have the opportunity to find competitive success where it did not exist before. WRS representatives Daniel Kinney and Kato Mateu got together with Be-Mag with the intention of answering some questions and cracking open all that is 'Uploaded.'
Skipass 2012 Photo-Set by Pietro Firrincieli Be-Mag·November 19, 2011Skipass is the oldest contest still alive in Italy. It's a five days fair for winter sport with blading, skateboarding, ski and snowboard contests and Moto-X demos with thousands of visitors. Their main sponsor is Nissan. This year, the park was built by Vans and was not too street-like with not many lines, a bank to 3 different ledges, a manual pad with a curb in the middle and a couple ledges. At first the bladders were disappointed by the small size of this "fingerboard park". But in the end everybody had fun enjoying this indoor street session.

Competition Report: AIL Championships 2011 Be-Mag·November 8, 2011The AIL Championships were held this past weekend on Saturday November 5th 2011 at Woodward West in Tehachapi California. I have been waiting for this day since the preliminary competition held back in April, so needless to say I was uber excited to attend the event!
Competition Report: Italian Bladers Connection Finals 2011 Be-Mag·November 7, 2011The Italian Bladers Connection was founded in the early winter months of 2011. When a group of friends was on their way to Winterclash, they figured out they had to do something about the small, but rather strong scene from Italy. They decided to put all Italian blader contests and events under the same banner. Lucas Brandi, Jason Adriani, Nicola Fiorenza, Pietro Firrincieli and Marco Valera shared their ideas which led to the creation of a layout for the championships, which turned out to be a great success.
Competition Report: 15th Annual Hoedown Be-Mag·November 2, 2011So, this is it? The 15th and final Showdown at the Hoedown, or at least at the current location. It's been a great ride, and I agree it may be time to move on. I've managed to attend all but the first Hoedown, and every year I am impressed by not only the level of skating, but the level of community this event brings. It might start with the fact that Eisenberg's Skatepark is a family run park and Miss Vicky, Arlo's mom, is in attendance cheering on the skaters with the rest of us. Whatever it is I want to personally thank everyone who has ever been to a Hoedown be it to skate, watch, or just get drunk in the parking lot we call it tailgating in Texas it's been a lot of fun.
15th Annual Hoedown: Photo-Set by Randy Edwards Be-Mag·October 31, 2011The 15th Annual Hoedown competition went down this weekend at Eisenbergs Skatepark in Plano, TX, where local hero John Sullivan took the win. Thanks to Jason Reyna, we've got some amazing pictures shot by Randy Edwards for you!
Competition Report: Polish Rolling League 2011 Finals Be-Mag·October 24, 2011The third weekend of October was a moment many Polish skaters were waiting for. As some of you may know, this year all the biggest skatepark competitions in Poland were linked together to form an official Polish Rolling League. Top skaters were working hard to show up at every stop and place high, so they could gain points for the overall ranking. The main organizer, Green Association, co-operated together with the Polish Federation of Roller Skating, which meant that the winners of the league could be titled as the official Polish Champions in Aggressive In-line Skating. Not to mention the prizes, which were good enough to motivate skaters for their highest performance.
Brian Aragon touring China Live-Update #4: At Woodward Beijing Be-Mag·October 23, 2011After having a full day of skating yesterday it felt good to get a few extra hours of sleep especially because I knew today we were going to Woodward Beijing, the newest member to the Woodward family. Growing up I never had the chance to visit Woodward, it wasn't until much later in my pro career that I went to Woodward West for the first time. That being said, this morning when I woke up I had the kid on Christmas morning attitude and after doing a bit of exploring around my hotel and grabbing coffee, Franky Zhang picked me up at 12pm. Beijing is huge and even though I'm staying in Beijing we still had to drive two hours to get to Woodward Beijing.
Brian Aragon touring China Live-Update #3: The Pants Situation Be-Mag·October 22, 2011My third day in China started off bright and early. At 8am the phone rang and I heard Frankys voice telling me, "Brian I'm in the lobby, time to go get pants". I did need new pants due to ripping a pair the previous day but I was a little confused by the time that he had chose to go shopping, but hey, when in Beijing!
Brian Aragon touring China Live-Update #2: Brian Aragon’s first Day in China Be-Mag·October 21, 2011Waking up periodically through the first night, Thursday morning couldn't come soon enough! My day started when Asian team rider, Franky Zhang, picked me up around 11am and took me to one of his favorite places to eat in Beijing which strangely enough was Indian food. After a nice lunch we headed to the press conference that was being held for the CX games which included all the organizers of the event as well as two pro BMXers.
Brian Aragon touring China Live-Update #1: Brian Aragon arrived in China Be-Mag·October 19, 2011Brian Aragon arrived into Beijing airport at 3pm, today. Franky Zhang and the CX-Games staff swept in and picked him up. Before he even had a chance to take a breath, Brian was swarmed by the Chinese media. After some interviews Brian and Franky headed to their hotel to rest and chill out before starting their responsibilities for the event. Tomorrow, Brian will attend the news conference taking place before the start of the Beijing CX-Games. Check back tomorrow for more updates.
Competition Report: Mile High Battle 2011 Be-Mag·October 18, 2011This weekend we saw the 11th annual Mile High Battle commence as bladers threw down everything they had. This phrase might seem too commonly used when media outlets in the blade world discuss a competition that went on. But, from this writers eyes down to the fingertips that press the insignificant keys on a laptop, this competition was all but common. It was an event that saw the likes of Colorados top skaters, visiting competitors Brian Aragon and Jeph Howard, who Razors flew in for this special trip, up-and-comers from surrounding states, and a line-up of spots that seemed peculiar and fitting. Some features that at first glance seemed ordinary for a competition like this spawned the battleground for one of the most heated battles that included a front-flip out of a sweatstance.
Competition Report: A Day In The Mitten 2011 Be-Mag·October 18, 2011Last years write up of the comp was done by Brian Weis while sitting in an E.R. waiting room after destroying his leg tying a huge transfer off a Kinker. So I thought it only fit that I'm writing this years comp report as I sit in the E.R. waiting room with a broken hand.
Contest Report: 11th Annual Kentucky Battle Be-Mag·October 17, 2011It all started back on April 20, 2000. In a blur, I had way too much fun, but I watched the edit Tri made. I think he won, but it was originally between Louisville and Lexington. I think we all realized that wouldn't work. So, now fast-forward many sessions, parties, and prizes later. Here we are in our 11th year and can now say we are a legit contest. People from all over have been to Lexington or Louisville simply for some bad-ass street skating in some of the spots that we here call home. I can't tell you how to throw a skate contest, because I honestly change the format every year. I test one way and regardless of success or failure, we determine a winner, and everyone either parties or goes home. That is how it has always been, until this year...
