I was fortunate enough to meet Eric in person this summer while visiting the Adapt Brand crew in Holland and he is a skater to look out for. Eric skates with a raw energy, has an eye for unique spots, and is always down to smoke cigarettes or have a drink or two.

The Fall/Winter issue of Be-Mag is about to hit a newsstand near you, and we've a bumper treat in store for the 15th anniversary issue. That's right, issue 40 of your favourite global blading publication, shining a light on the good and the great in this blading world we know and love for 15 years, and solidly looking forward to the next 15!

As you might have noticed this week we are spotlighting Rollerblading Amsterdam here on Be-Mag. Of course, we can't talk about Rollerblading in A-Dam without giving you an insight into the city's skate crew. So, what other people will you be meeting most likely when you decide to shred in Holland's capital - so here it is. A list of the Amsterdam Rollerbladers you might come across when you cruise through the city.

So you’ve come to Amsterdam and brought your rollerblades. Congratu-fucking-lations. But exactly how are you gonna get you and your sorry crew out of the coffee shops and into them boots? Conventional wisdom says you need a spot guide. But conventional wisdom talks out its ass. Spot guides are useless because spot guides will only tell you where you could go. Which isn’t nearly the same as knowing where you should go. So, to help you prevent wasting precious sober-time on second- or third-rate spots, we proudly present: Play your cards right! – The definitive Amsterdam spot guide.

Most people take pride in the city, town or village they hail from. It is a pride that manifests in important soccer matches, hip hop songs and, in the case of Eastern Europe, wrestling with pigs and other great traditions. Some people take greater pride in their home-country or city than others, and quite often people misuse their pride in forcing it upon others, the exact reason why no one really likes Germans. But, it is a great thing to have a strong, healthy feeling of pride of the place you live in. Especially when you’re from Amsterdam.

Using the empty space between my second and third wheel, I plant the groove on the edge of the step, and in one kick I'm out the driveway. Gliding on 223rd street, passing the students going to school, I give the bike lane a new name, the blade lane. I arrive at Chuck's house and we're on our way to the Wednesday morning blade ritual with genuine people that I am honored to still be blading with.
