We went around asking the Pros and the Public who would win this year's WRS Chaz Sands Invite. We got answers and a bit more banter. Make sure to check back on be-mag.com since we are still working on more video releases that will give you a more detailed insight into the action of the contest.

Some causal hotel drinking turned into something a tad more crazy last night...As you can see Quinny and a few others may have a hard time skating today. Some power naps are about to go down in the V.I.P room.

The Asian X-Games is the only X-Games that still hosts rollerblading. Although X-Games is a household known brand-name and people who don’t know much about rollerblading might think it is the biggest competition for rollerbladers out there, it only has a 3-star rating on the WRS scale. That is obviously because of the amount of pro’s participating. It has less pro’s attending but more prize money (up to 10th place). But Asian X-Games is not about the money...

Orlando, most of the time, marks the meeting point for all of us bladers here in the Sunshine State. Also, one of the main reasons we decided to hold the first of many strings of street competitions here in Florida. Meet up spot was Barnett Skatepark. A small park with a perfect mini and an across and down rail to warm up at. Waited there for about an hour for people to show up until we headed out to the first spot. Before we headed out I made sure everyone had directions and also got with the judges to make sure we were on the same page. Lending their knowledge about the sport and tallying points was Shima Pro Rider, Joey Chase; Razors Flow Rider, Sammy Chase; Be-Mag Drama Queen, Rob Squire; and local skate veteran, Nate Ent.

Quite honestly The Chosen Few Santee Street Comp was great. Nick Wood and Damien Wilson made sure the BBQ was running at every spot with hot dogs and cheese burgers on deck. Over $200 of BBQ was sold and that money went to best trick at all the spots. The BBQ was something that added a little extra vibe to the competition. Great skating, great food, great people, Santee style. So thank you for lugging that thing around all day. We ended up with close to 200 people and 40 competitors. The first spot was the famous Chicano Park line ledges.

Good things are happening in France. The scene in Bordeaux recently threw down the West Coast Contest in their hometown skatepark. While this event is pretty young it was well organized and a good experience for everyone that attended. Watch these 3 edits that bear witness that the French can skate – and that rain cannot stop them from having a good time!

Yesterday we have randomly selected two winners for the Be-Mag & Rampworx Ticket Raffle for the 5th Chaz Sands Invite in Liverpool, England. And here they are!

This must have been the nicest weekend Jacksonville had ever seen. Definitely hot, but perfect skating weather. We arrived at the park around noon on Friday, several hours before the start of the Under 18 division contest. After a few to-do's and touch ups, the Under 18 was under way and went off without a hitch. I remember some tricks from this contest that made me wonder if these kids where really under 18. Such as Zach Pollak's Full Cab Ally Oop Mizou, cess slide in, then his huge disaster back Royale on the cement ledge, or Tyler Huston's Tru Fishbrain. Everyone did an amazing job! Congrats to Zach for taking home first. Later that night, it was straight to the MacBook with Scotty Swemba by my side to work on the first Be-Mag live update.

It was extremely important to ACHOSEN-FEW.COM to put on a competition in NYC this year. This city has one of the biggest scenes around and it is constantly growing. There has been so many great competitions in NYC and Chosen Few wants to continue those footsteps. So with the help of Ray Mendez and I ROLL NY we were able to get something organized.

This years Chaz Sands Invitational will see the event enter its 5th year and 3rd at Rampworx Skatepark, Liverpool England. This is the UK's only 5 star WRS event, making it one of the few events in Europe that will boost your world ranking. With several heavy hitters already confirmed for the event it is sure to be another great contest. Be-Mag has joined forces with the guys at Rampworx to give you the chance to win 2 tickets to the event on June 11th 2011!

Due to the weather conditions only Amateur Qualification -16 was held. It pretty much rained all the way to the evening. A sunny day has been announced for tomorrow so check back soon!

This is what the French do when they're getting rained out during a contest. Everything is dried now so expect the first skating clips to pop up soon!

The first edition of the West Coast Contest is taking place at Skatepark des Chartrons in Bordeaux, France this weekend. After getting rained out the whole morning the competition is about to start right now. See how the events attendees killed some time till the ramps dried up.
