This must have been the nicest weekend Jacksonville had ever seen. Definitely hot, but perfect skating weather. We arrived at the park around noon on Friday, several hours before the start of the Under 18 division contest. After a few to-do's and touch ups, the Under 18 was under way and went off without a hitch. I remember some tricks from this contest that made me wonder if these kids where really under 18. Such as Zach Pollak's Full Cab Ally Oop Mizou, cess slide in, then his huge disaster back Royale on the cement ledge, or Tyler Huston's Tru Fishbrain. Everyone did an amazing job! Congrats to Zach for taking home first. Later that night, it was straight to the MacBook with Scotty Swemba by my side to work on the first Be-Mag live update.

It was extremely important to ACHOSEN-FEW.COM to put on a competition in NYC this year. This city has one of the biggest scenes around and it is constantly growing. There has been so many great competitions in NYC and Chosen Few wants to continue those footsteps. So with the help of Ray Mendez and I ROLL NY we were able to get something organized.

This years Chaz Sands Invitational will see the event enter its 5th year and 3rd at Rampworx Skatepark, Liverpool England. This is the UK's only 5 star WRS event, making it one of the few events in Europe that will boost your world ranking. With several heavy hitters already confirmed for the event it is sure to be another great contest. Be-Mag has joined forces with the guys at Rampworx to give you the chance to win 2 tickets to the event on June 11th 2011!

Due to the weather conditions only Amateur Qualification -16 was held. It pretty much rained all the way to the evening. A sunny day has been announced for tomorrow so check back soon!

This is what the French do when they're getting rained out during a contest. Everything is dried now so expect the first skating clips to pop up soon!

The first edition of the West Coast Contest is taking place at Skatepark des Chartrons in Bordeaux, France this weekend. After getting rained out the whole morning the competition is about to start right now. See how the events attendees killed some time till the ramps dried up. We hope to get a little live-update going here, so send your prayers for better weather and check back during the day!

Pony Cup 2011 was a great experience. A lot of really good bladers attended this year and the competition – in contrast to its rather small name – featured some seriously good skating by Jojo Jacobi, Alex Burston and Jacob Juul as well as an elite troop of young guns that were ripping the park to shreds in the junior competition!

David Johns from Orlando has been jumping around at the Pow-wow exclusively for Be-Mag. And as you see in the picture set below, David is not only the guy that tries to get the best skating shots, he is also deep in finding good and interesting content apart from the skating. Jason Reyna put together a few bangers by David Sizemore who performed well at this year's PowWow, Florida's largest rolling comp.

The Under 18 division kicked off last night as the start to the Pow-wow Pro/Am. Congrats to Zachary Pollak for taking first. See everyone today as the tradeshow kicks off at noon!

The Asian X-Games are taking place in Shanghai, China this weekend and the likes of Brian Aragon, Chris Haffey, Takeshi Yasutoko and many more are present to show the audience what they're about. Blading legend Matteo Attanasio agreed on doing some live-updates for Be-Mag while he was over there for the event.

David Johns from Orlando is on his way to the Panhandle PowWow 2011 which is taking place at Kona Skatepark in Jacksonville (FL) this upcoming weekend (April 29th-30th 2011). In tow he has Damien Wilson, Michael 'Gumby' Braud, Andrew Jaccuzi and Keaton Newson. As you can see below the crew detected some decent spots on their trip and left their marks on each one. The first ever Donate and Skate charitable rollerblading event took place in Cedar Park, Texas on April 16th 2011. The goal of the contest was to provide rollerblades to those interested in the sport, but who might not have the funds readily available to buy brand new skates. Instead of a contest entry fee, competitors donated used skates, wheels or frames. Then, during the contest, the nice staff of Rec N Roll Skateshop helped match up the pieces and assembled skates for those in need. It was great seeing so many kids excited about picking out their own parts and trying on their new skates. A few brave kids even tried rolling the skatepark for their first time – it was a beautiful sight!

The Gladiator contest was born in the mind of Cédric Duchemin, and along with his partner in crime Stéphane Luchie, they brought this project to life and made it one of the best park contests of the year, eventually earning itself 3 stars on the WRS rankings. Both really good skaters and great people, those we call “Duch & Stouf” put a lot of work and energy on the line to make this event happen. Originally meant to be a trilogy, the great atmosphere and positive response from the scene kept it going until this year, for its sixth edition. Whether or not there will be another one in the future is still uncertain, but we can only hope the crew finds a way to bring us another incredible event next year!
