Up and comers: Dick Heerkens Be-Mag·April 3, 2012I know Dick "mister shine" Heerkens for a couple of years now. Hes the friendliest dude I know in the Dutch scene. Dick is very clever and entrepreneurial, but most of all, he's a fun guy to hang out with. If we are on skates, travel, fire up the BBQ or play some soccer, he'll always be on point! When he is on skates you can see him enjoying the session, and most of the time this positive energy spreads to other skaters around him. He loves to play around but is down for some hammers as well. He does this with style and a huge trick vocabulary. If you ever have the chance to shred with him, put on your blades and do so. For now just sit back and enjoy these clips.
Be-Mag Supporters for March 2012 Be-Mag·March 31, 2012Having a print publication to show off the sport to outsiders is as important to Blading as a page on the internet where everyone can get their daily dose of Rolling. Many people are contributing to Be-Mag each month to keep the project alive and make it the longest running source for Blading content in print and on the net. With the core team of Be-Mag doing it for the love and all contributors also working for free there are still costs that occur. Paying for the servers, programming cost, countless other things that result in a huge sum each month. Needless to say it costs a small fortune to print a large number of magazines and distribute it all over the globe.

Powerblading in Brussels feat. Stephane Mosselmans & Mathieu Hennebert Be-Mag·March 28, 2012Peep Stephane & Mathieu bringing back boardwalks. It's obvious in the edit that Powerblading is just starting out and slowly finding its direction, but some tricks are pretty impressive nonetheless. You wouldn't consider sessioning a bench with a gravel run up or pyramids made of metal bars with an anti setup. Okay, maybe you would, but it's more fun/working better on some big 'ol wheels...
In the Know: CJ Wellsmore Be-Mag·March 28, 2012Although relatively new to the spotlight, CJ has had wheels under his feet since the beginning, and has been competing internationally for over a decade. Starting at such a young age and skating in the shadows of Australian legends like Cesar Mora and Matt Salerno has left CJ with an unmistakable natural style for skating, especially on transition. Since returning to his blades in 2005 after a short break for beach lifestyle in just a few years, CJ has refined his skills and established himself as one of the worlds top bladers. CJ's skills on the blades are undeniable, even to the outsider's eye, but what makes his skating even more enjoyable to watch is the fact you can tell how much he loves it. CJ still has the same passion for skating as he did when he first started, which I think is what's needed to inspire the next generation of skaters.

Bad News: Andrey "Strogiy" Zaytsev has died Be-Mag·March 22, 2012This is terrible news for all of us. Russia, Europe even the world lost one of its best bladers, Andrey Zaytsev. I knew him personally, we used to skate together. He was one of the most stylish and natural talents in rollerblading, a skater ahead of his time, and besides his skating, he was such a nice, gifted and brave man. I think people will best remember him as part of the Iguana team, from his appearances in IMYTA street contest finals, or from his video sections that left you thinking "Who was that guy?".
