Checking in with Adapt Brand
In November of last year we introduced Adapt to the world in form of our Company Profiles. A little less than three months later we figured it would be time to check back in with them to get an update on the progress they've made in the meantime. Adapt co-founder Pieter Wijnant fills us in about recent additions to the team, them planning to premier a certain boot at Winterclash, availability and pricing information, as well as their vision of even more Dutch skating companies in the future.
Checking in with David Sizemore
David Sizemore has been "good" for some time now, but as you know being good doesn't always make you accepted amongst your peers. I don't think anyone can say just what "it" is that makes you accepted in our culture. Tightness of pants, choice of slang, style of hair, who you hang out with, what your elbow is doing when you land. Styles have changed so drastically since my days as a "youth", I don't really know what's acceptable these days.
Roskilde 2011 Live-Update #3 Checking in with Montre Livingston
While on tour around Europe, Montre Livingston also stopped by the Roskilde Festival. After Tuesday's demo, Johannes Jacobi took Montre aside and checked in with him about his current tour, his experience at the festival and the new SSM video for which the filming has just begun worldwide. Ronni Skovmand also prepared an edit of Montre which was filmed during the demo yesterday.
Checking in with Edwin Wieringh
If you are into European Rollerblading, you might have come across the Amsterdam local Edwin Wieringh. Dutch, cleanest style ever, textbook truespin topsouls, always in a good mode and full of power those are just some characteristics for a guy who loves Rollerblading more than anything else in his life and that often shreds the Amsterdam streets just by himself. There are some Rollerbladers in our industry that are known worldwide for their extraordinary talent although they have never won an international contest title. Edwin Wieringh has been one of those people at least until the weekend of June 11th 2011 when he took the Chaz Sands Invite 2011 Amateur comp. When we got the results from our local media team there was a big "Halleluja!" going on in the office. It was just a matter of time that Edwin would win an international recognized contest. We thought that's reason enough to catch up with the Dutch super dude. Curtains up for Edwin "from hell" Wieringh.
Checking In with Robbie Pitts
If you asked me 4 months ago if Robbie Pitts would have a section in Seven Rats, I would have been hesitant in saying yes. We had submitted all of the footage I filmed of him in the past year for Valo 4 Life, and I didnt have a single clip of him left for Seven Rats. When he returned from America, I filmed Robbie almost everyday for 3 months, and his persistence, and belief in the project carried him through to the end, delivering an amazing video section. He truly has put a lot of effort into getting his section done, from filming arbitrarily after work/university, to sitting in on the long editing process. His section was the first that I finished editing, wrapping it up within 5 hours of getting his final trick on camera. Working with Robbie was a great experience; his outlook on rollerblading is something that will always stay with me. Thanks for all the great memories Robbie!
Checking In with Timm Kittlitz
Timm Kittlitz of Germany is known for his clean style and attractive blading. He is also someone with very clear ideas on rolling and what he believes in. Check this interview on the The Conference blog!
Checking In with Sven Boekhorst
Sven Boekhorst just sent us a small edit and a few pics. We thought we should do a quick Checking In with him since Winterclash is happening in his home country this year. We also wanted to know if he plans to live up to his performance at last years Winterclash in Berlin, which was nothing short of amazing. How's his Svenergy level right now? And what has he planned for 2011?
Checking in with John Sullivan
Pat Leal caught up with Texas' finest John Sullivan. Check out what John has to say. Apart from the interview, Pat also put together a nice edit giving you an idea of John's skating talent. Peep it.
Checking in with Nick Lomax
Over the past couple years Nick Lomax has become a strong pillar in the global rolling scene. Since he took the IMYTA 2006 in Amsterdam (sharing the first place with Benny Harmanus) his career has taken an unique way and has brought him all over the globe to roll and represent his skills. Recently he got his first USD-PRO and own Undercover Signature wheel. Now it's time to - at least - have a short interview with Nick to find out what's up with im and why the heck he currently has a pin in his jaw...Read on!
Checking in with Robert Guerrero
Rollerblade's posterboy Robert Guerrero will get his own Rollerblade Pro Skate. On November 4th there will be a Skate release party in NYC.
Time to ask Rob a few questions about his current status and his new PRO skate. Read on.
Checking in with Jojo Jacobi
Six months ago the world of Rollerblading gathered in Berlin as Jojo called for the Winterclash 2010. This event was bigger, louder and more spectacular than all previous Winterclashs and Rollerblading contests. But while Jojo organized one of the biggest Rollerblading events to date, it somehow went quiet around his own person after the event. That's why Be-Mag checked in with Jojo to find out what's going on.
Checking in with Photographer Sam DeAngelis
Sam DeAngelis's photography has been popping up a lot lately. If you read online rolling media than you've seen his work shooting the NY and NJ scene. Want to know more about him? So did we, so we checked in, and Sam delivered this nice little interview along with some exclusive shots!
