Ian *** shines a spotlight on a strictly taboo subject in blading. We've all experienced the pain of it, we see it happen to others and look away, or stare and laugh. It happens to our favourite pro's, whether we like to admit it or not, and it makes rubber-boned groms into hardened shredders. Time to learn more about the beast we call falling down.
HORN! HORN! HORN! Blading's most chantable stuntman is our latest in-depth victim. Meet the disaster-slayer who wants all the good stuff and would rather not die in the dirt. He's just like you and I... mostly.

I just bought a DJI Phantom this week and took my first couple of flights around the neighbourhood with my GoPro Hero 3 Black attached to its undercarriage Unfortunately Holland is very windy, which made it hard to get smooth images right off the bat. I also filmed a small session with Edwin Wieringh, Hans Hardonk and Roel Verhoeven on Amsterdams newest skatespot, the Wittedewithstraat Curb. Here I shot some extra footage using a Canon 5d MarkII and the GoPro Hero 2. These were my first times going up with this new little camerahelicopter, and while filming a church in Ransdorp the heavy wind took the Phantom right out of my sights, but luckily the return to home function worked perfect. It did give me a few moments of cold sweat though. I cant wait to improve my flying skills, and start flying on some really hard to reach spots! My partner in crime Axel van Dijk has also just purchased the DJI Phantom, so expect much more fly edits to come some time soon.
I met Chaz for the first time during a contest in Rome back in 2002. I guess Id only known him for like 24 hours, but after some drinks we were already making plans to drive my car all the way from Rome to Glasgow, to spend some extra time in Scotland. The next morning we cancelled this crazy idea because of everybody's hangovers. I also remember we were sitting together in the car that night with a Dutch friend of mine who needed skates. Chaz said: No problem. I will call Salomon right now for a pair of skates haha....So there he was at 3 oclock in the morning calling the Salomon headquarters for a pair of skates. Ever since then weve been in contact, and I'm always trying to bring him over to my events here in Holland; the main goal is to have a great time and the secondary goal is to have some nice blading sessions. And I must say we are scoring every single time except this one time during my 30th birthday!I visited his house and local skatepark for a week a few years ago, which was a great experience. I hope I can make this trip again soon. Chaz is a great personality, a down to earth person with a big sense of humor and besides that he is still killing it on his blades. Like this video I saw lately of him learning fakie 1080...
