The time has come and the final competitor list for the 2011 NYC Street Invitational is finished. We have taken our time choosing the absolute best street skaters from all over the world to bring to New York City and we think we have a pretty amazing competitor list put together. Now onto those Wild Card spots that we have promised: Due to the nature of the competition we will not have time for a qualifications or Amateur competition. Our main priority is to give those invited to the event every opportunity to shred what we will be putting in front of them. We will be accepting suggestions for the 5 remaining Wild Card spots for the NYC Street Invitational. The top 5 submitted bladers will be invited to the competition. One submission per person so choose wisely.
Sometimes the best ideas are the ones that hit you spontaneously: In just 3 weeks Jon Julio and crew set up their game plan for 'The Blading Cup' which will take place at the beginning of August in Santa Ana, USA. Ryan Loewy hit up Jon to give you a quick overview of what to expect. The line-up for the comp already reads impressive and the guys managed to plant this event right into the busy festivities that will go down the same weekend in downtown Santa Ana.
Not only have the guys at Kingdom Magazine provided live-updates from the event, they've also prepared this sweet little edit of the NASS 2011 highlights for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
Blake Bird and Grif Kerry hosted the first skate competition in London for over 9 years. All the top UK riders turned out. It was a treat that bladers from over 10 years ago dusted their skates off and came for a roll including people like Imeon Hartwig, Charlie Lockyer, Taz, Sid, Jordan Murphy and Johnny Sabento.
The summer is around the corner which means it's nearly time for the second official West Coast Clash competition. After last years success we have fortunately been able to up the prize purse even more, totaling at a whopping £2800.00 making us one of the largest paid comps in the UK.
On August 6th the City of Santa Anas Downtown East End kicks off celebration and the re-grand opening of the historic Yost Theatre, the same day as the Santa Ana Artist Walk which already draws people from all over Orange County. In the midst of the festivities going on, some of the biggest brands in blading will be throwing the 1st ever Blading Cup featuring the world's top pros Chris Haffey, Brian Aragon, Alex Broskow, John Bolino, Erik Bailey, Chris Farmer, Frankie Morales, Brandon Smith, Jeff Stockwell, Dominic Sagona and many more. Announced just a few weeks ago, the upcoming NYC Street Invite is set to leave a lasting impression. Our contributor Ryan Loewy talked with Billy O'Neill about the new real street competition the best bladers in the industry have been invited to compete in.
Over a years worth of planning, six months of prolonged construction, and a lot of perseverance with the city has led to the opening of We Are One Skate park. This next Saturday, July 16, there will be a A Chosen Few Contest at this brand new indoor skate park. This is a 1-star WRS event.
We at Be-Mag try our best to let you experience competitions and events all over the world. What's even better then following our live-updates in front of a computer screen is to actually be there in person, of course. This is why we team up with organizers of your favourite events from time to time to raffle out some tickets. All you need to do is to answer a simple question. Your profound rolling knowledge or just a bit of luck will do the rest. This time we hook you up with three tickets for the famous Baltic Games that will take place from 14th to 16th of July in Gdansk, Poland.
Baltic Games is growing into a full size extreme sports event. With the likes of Phil Zwijsen, Alex Mizurov, Keith Walsh, Helder Lima and Didrik Galasso opening the starting list the skateboarding contest seems to be one of the best in Europe this season. Inline will be represented by some of the best riders in the world like Alex Broskow, Erik Bailey, Dre Powell, Dominik Wagner and many others.
The NYC Street Invitational is a Pro/Am invite-only event founded by Pro blader and long time resident of New York City, Billy ONeill. The event will be a completely legitimate, real street contest taking place underneath a highway in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Permits and insurance are already secured for the location and all obstacles will be available within the space provided. Unlike other street contests there will be no issue with the police breaking up the event and there will be no traveling from spot-to-spot. This is going to be one of the first, fully legitimate, real street contests since IMYTA. Many of the worlds top Pros have already confirmed that they will be here to battle for the $10,000 that will be distributed among the top 3. Make your plans now, because this will be a rollerblading event to remember!

Held on May 29th was the first street comp held in Florida in a while the O-Town Throwdown. People gathered from all over the state, Georgia, and even Tennessee for a chance at the $300 first prize. This is the official 2011 O-Town Throwdown edit!
The World Rolling series was introduced into Relentless Energy NASS for the first time in 2009, bringing an international list of riders like never before. Year on year the progression of inline is awe inspiring as the riders tear the course apart with a mix of high flying acrobatics and technical wizardry. The likes of Brian Aragon (US), Steve Swain (UK) & Roman Goadenaire (FRA) are regular podium finishers.
The Swiss comp in Basel was the smallest event I have ever had but the quality of talent was high. One of the important things about these street comps are to do something big for each skate scene. This comp had a small turn out but we had some of our youngest competitors. 3 skaters who were only 15 years old we're skating along side guys like Beat Schillmeier and Diego Guilloud.
