    Checking in with Adapt Brand

    In November of last year we introduced Adapt to the world in form of our Company Profiles. A little less than three months later we figured it would be time to check back in with them to get an update on the progress they've made in the meantime. Adapt co-founder Pieter Wijnant fills us in about recent additions to the team, them planning to premier a certain boot at Winterclash, availability and pricing information, as well as their vision of even more Dutch skating companies in the future.

    The guys at UCON have been featured on Modeblock.com, a German/Austrian website which main focus is fashion. You'll probably have a hard time reading anything because it's all German, so we suggest you just look at the photos or watch the video. Which is... also in German. But it looks cool. So does some of the gear featured in it. Just a couple of weeks till UCON releases their new line for Spring/Summer 2012!

    Having a print publication to show off the sport to outsiders is as important to Blading as a page on the internet where everyone can get their daily dose of Rolling. Many people are contributing to Be-Mag each month to keep the project alive and make it the longest running source for Blading content in print and on the net. With the core team of Be-Mag doing it for the love – and all contributors also working for free – there are still costs that occur. Paying for the servers, programming cost, countless other things that result in a huge sum each month. Needless to say it costs a small fortune to print a large number of magazines and distribute it all over the globe.

    Here's the second State of Mind Webisode of the season: Wild (Woodward) West State of Mind. Some of you may know that I grew up rollerblading. Ya ya fruitbooter! ;) All jokes set aside, I really did love it and feel as though it's helped me become the skier I am today. Last summer, my girl Ashley Battersby and I rolled out to Woodward West in Cali on some windy days to get some foam pit action going. We had a blast, check it out!     Fenfanix Road to Winterclash Tour 2012

    It is getting close. The 2012 edition of the Winterclash is waiting for us around the corner and everybody is slowly getting high blood pressure. From the 7th and 8th of February the Winterclash tour will start at the Forward Freestyle Skatepark in Roeselare, Belgium. The climax of this tour will be the three day event in the Area 51 Skatepark in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Of course Be-Mag will provide live updates every day. This huge event is already completely sold out, but don't worry if you don't have your ticket yet. There is a Be-Mag Prize Raffle going on where you can win one of the last tickets around.

But, through a long arduous process we were able to sort it all out and come up with our decision.     Blast from the Past: The German Wunderkind

    There are two moments in life where I met Jochen Smuda for the first time. Paradox? Not at all. The very first time I saw him I was watching the Paris Bercy Contest on Eurosport. I was wondering where that kid came from as he was the only German going to the finals altogether with well known pro skaters from all over the world. The first time I met him in real life was in Stuttgart at the DIV German Championships. I don't think we spoke a word but I liked him being focused on rollerblading, no signs of arrogance, ignoring the hype that started after people got to know "Wunderkind" Jochen Smuda. Those are some memories from the 90's, but if I look at Jochen nowadays, he didn't change much. Always in a good mood he seems to be born to entertain people; but besides his funny side, to me he is someone you can ask for help, talk to when an advice is needed, inspiring in so many different ways.

    Traveling all by himself, with the help of locals along the way, Montre spent a whole month touring and shredding in Europe this past summer. The non-extensive list of countries he visited include Holland, Denmark, France and the United Kingdom. And no matter how chill he is, Montre also made sure to kill it.
