The Standard Skate Company recently announced its new and improved Omni V2 skate and its first pro model for the incomparable Yandriel Silverio! After hearing feedback from the community from their initial Omni V1 release, Standard addressed some of the issues from its first model and quickly corrected the problematic areas for their second offering.
Improvements include:
- New plastic material for the V2 cuff and shell which is more flexible and more forgiving for all foot shapes.
- Shell is purposefully designed with extra room in the toe box to allow for a roomier fit, and a new jig that widens the ankles alleviating pressure points.
- Updated liner with plush, heat-moldable padding which is now thinner around the heel and ankle to accommodate the new, more flexible shell.
- Increased length, width, and height of the liner to completely fill the shell.
To announce the release of his new signature pro skate, Yandriel Silverio teamed up with Pablo Porta who tackled the editing responsibilities of his promo for Standard. The video shows its respects to Yandriel’s family & Cuban heritage with a proper musical score & featuring skating from his brother Yanniel Silverio as well. The video is an absolute banger with Yandi pulling out all the stops with some fresh new moves to his already vast stockpile of tricks.
