Sheesh, a lot of wheels have been ground to the ground since USD and Kizer started pushing ‘powerblading’ years ago. These days, even the most skeptical of all of us see the sick shit that can be done on a pair of skates with bigger wheels. Surely, not a lot can do the stuff Sam Crofts or Nick Lomax here can do, but it doesn’t change the fact that street skating on big wheels has taken our sport in a new, different and exciting direction. And such is Nick Lomax’ first section on the new USD Aeon 80mm skates. He starts off with a backslide just to rub the fact that anything is possible on big wheels if you put some effort into it (it’s not, in reality unless you’re really, really good, like Nick), and just goes on to destroy everything put in front of him in Barcelona.
