Our good friend Matt Dearden and the people behind the famous Laced contest recently issued a statement online, which would also appear to be their last one… Held at the great Rampworx skatepark, the Laced Sries had grown into the biggest blading event in the UK, and it truly is sad to see it go due to the lack of support. Read the full statement below, and join the closing session February 27th to celebrate Laced’s legacy: thanks for your hard work and the countless great times and memories you helped build lads. You will be missed.
“After 4 years of running Laced I will not be hosting an event in 2016. Laced turned into the biggest blading event in the UK with hundreds of riders flying in from over 19 countries each year to battle it out. The lack of industry support for riders and events means unfortunately that it is not possible to keep the event running.
I would like to thank every one that has helped make these events possible over the last 4 years, the riders, sponsors and friends that have helped me along the way.
There will be a huge session going down at the skatepark that weekend (27th Feb) for all the riders that just want to skate and have a good time. See you there.” – Matt Dearden
