Julien Cudot was the most highly sought-after “free agent” in inline skating for many years. Having been without an official skate sponsor, many questioned who the World Champion would eventually ride for, and to many skaters’ surprise, he signed with the new brand Cougar earlier this year. Since Julien’s joined the Cougar pro ranks, he’s been dominating the competition scene, winning numerous contests worldwide. Julien had this to say about his remarkable hot streak and immediately jumping into filming with the renowned videographer Jonas Hansson for his introductory Cougar profile.
The end of the season is always quite busy, the World Championships was a success, I defended my park title and added the street one. It was not time to relax yet though. Six days later I was heading to Copenhagen to film a street edit within eight days. I’ve done that twice before (film a street section in a week), I told myself i was never gonna do it again because it was too intense and rough for the body even if successful. With Cougar having it organized and Jonas as the video director, I knew I will be able to focus 100% on my global shape and skating. I was juiced to give it another try in those conditions. – Julien Cudot

For the introduction video, Julien pulled out all the stops, showing his wide-ranging skating skills translate to any environment you put him up against. Once again, Jonas proves why he is one of the best cinematographers in our industry. With an acute eye for capturing landscapes that help convey both the obstacle’s difficulty and accentuate the subject’s style, Jonas is a master of his craft. It is nice to see the stars have aligned and two of the best at what they do can collaborate on such a phenomenal piece of blading media. Enjoy!
