The BLADING HALL OF FAME is an online documentation of the most elite riders in blading history, the professional riders who received pro-endorsed skates from their boot sponsor.
Created by blading writer Seán Ó Dálaigh, this is a comprehensive collection of those skaters, and their name-sake boots, from the first Chris Edwards Rollerblade model to the present day.
It could be argued what criteria deems one worthy of being ‘inducted’ into a Hall of Fame. For the purposes of this page, there’s one simple metric — that your boot sponsor deemed you marketable enough to produce and sell a skate with your name on it.
This measure alone throws up questions — are all bladers on the list equal in stature, contribution and influence on the sport? Further, there are big names who, through internal politics, sponsor shortsightedness / stubbornness, career threatening injury or controversy, never received a pro skate?
This site simply aims to factually document the pro-endorsed blades historically, as we approach the 20th anniversary of the first ever pro skate.
