Buddy4: CT to Pow-wow to MIA

Introduction by Be-Mag
Edit & write-up by ift

Living in Bridgeport, Connecticut this Spring allowed me to meet new friends and hang with good people including Be-Maggers mudhut jollyrancher, nai, drunkenmonkey, andrew nemo and ryanmatthewdaily.

I had two weeks to fill between moving from CT and the 7th Panhandle Pow-wow, so I decided to visit Virginia, South Carolina, Macon, and Tallahassee on my way to the contest. Rain interrupted quite a few skate days in SC, Macon, Tallahassee, and at the Pow-wow, but that didn’t prevent me from getting in a lot of hang time with friends in addition to almost as much skating as I would have wanted to do anyway.

The 7th Pow-wow was understandably disappointing to those that had to leave Sunday morning. Unfortunately it rained nearly non-stop from the time I got to Jacksonville Thursday before the contest until the time I woke up at noon on Sunday (sleeping through my heat in the 25 and up division). Again I didn’t let the rain take away from an incredible weekend partying with everyone that came to town. The Pow-wow continues to be one of my most anticipated weekends of the year thanks to the hard work of Blake Taylor and many others.

After Pow-wow I took some time to visit with my family in Tampa, and I got in a few sessions with the Tampa Blade Crew. Now it’s time to pack my car again to continue my education in Miami for the rest of the year. I don’t think I’ll be able to ‘Buddy Tour’ again for a while, but luckily Blake Taylor lives in Miami to provide company and motivation to skate and film.

See you next time!
