SIXER | FULL FILM | TALLBOYZ

The Tallboyz crew has just released their newest full-length skate vid, titled “Sixer”, which features Mark Wojda, Tadd Labozzetta, Dave Gunn, Andrew Leverton, Rob Dargiewicz, Yandriel Silverio, Connor Murphy, Josh Weaver, Ethan Shipley, Greg Raszewski, and a ton of other incredible appearances.

“Connecticut has a rich rollerblading history, with influential crews like illCONN and Black Bandit Media dating back to the early 2000s. Uniquely positioned between Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia, CT has long been a hidden gem for skaters chasing untapped street spots. When Dave and I started skating together, we had one goal: create a full-length street video that would put Connecticut back on the map. After a year of skating together and drawing on a lifetime as hobbyist videographers, we picked up our first camcorder to start documenting the local scene. The result was Tallboyz’s first crew video, Forever Soon, which premiered in 2019.

As time went on, the crew grew organically. More skaters joined the movement, expanding the core group and bringing in recognizable names like Tadd Labozzetta from NYC and Mark Wojda from Kentucky. What started as a small collective of friends quickly evolved into a thriving community stretching far beyond Connecticut and across much of the East Coast. Each year, the video projects became more refined, premieres drew bigger crowds, and the Tallboyz legacy continued to grow.

In 2025, longtime Connecticut blader Brendan Brown opened FLUX – Skate. Train. Recover—a first-of-its-kind facility combining an indoor skatepark, training space, and recovery center under one roof. With a vision of bridging action sports communities in the New Haven area, our annual video premiere naturally evolved into something bigger: an inclusive Skate Film Festival.

On February 28th, nearly 200 people from 11 different states packed FLUX for a full day of skating, video premieres, and community. The day featured an open skate session, a “Cash for Tricks” jam that gave away nearly $700, and a film festival lineup showcasing a wide range of video premieres. With films representing rollerblading, big-wheel skating, skateboarding, quad skating, and scooter riding, the festival truly brought together multiple corners of the action sports world. It was about more than just premieres – it was about celebrating the communities that make these scenes special.

This was our biggest and most successful event yet. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who came out and helped make it happen. We’re excited to keep building on this idea and take it to an even higher level next year. Huge thanks to Brendan for hosting us at FLUX and trusting us to bring an event of this magnitude to life. Shoutout to Aaron Kalat and Oli De Tomas for putting together videos specifically to premiere at the festival. Lastly, big ups to Ryan Ruegg and the entire scooter community who showed in big numbers to make the event even more special. Until next time 🍻” – Andrew Leverton
