The Colorado Road Trip 2011 – Day One Update Be-Mag·August 13, 2011The trip kicked off at Silverthorne Skatepark at 10:45am as rollerbladers from all over began to pour into the already jam-packed parking lot. The headcount reached about sixty as all corners of the park were littered with tight pant wearing, urethane cruising, beer guzzling, road trippin rollers. Within minutes the warm-ups began soon followed by hammers getting dropped on everything. Now feature was left alone as misties and spins gliding through the air were as frequent as the broken in frames danced on the coping of the bowls and ledges. After three hours the skate laces were loosened as everyone began to pile back into their rides and head for food. Next stop, Edwards Skatepark just outside of Vail.

The Colorado Road Trip 2011 Be-Mag Live-Updates start this Weekend Be-Mag·August 12, 2011This weekend marks the 12th annual end-of-the-summer festivity with Colorados biggest blading meet. The Colorado Road Trip was started with intent on leading a small crew across various parks throughout Colorado. At the beginning, where just seven individuals made it out, this event has quickly grown to what this year expects to bring nearly one hundred bladers to the Rocky Mountain State from all over. This is the time of year that the usual desolate skateparks of the Colorado highlands, typically littered with a small handful of skateboarders, a biker or two, a few children tooling around on a scooter, and in rarity a roller, get transformed into a celebration in a way that brings rollerblading just a little bit closer to the wild west. The days are spent shredding two or more skateparks while in between the road tripping frequents various stops along the Colorado River for bridge jumping and car surfing. The nights are filled with stories of their own as rollers become frontiersmen, gathering around camp fires in the desert sharing experiences, camaraderie, and of course some fine beverages.
AGV Team Belarus Tour Update #5: Minsk Be-Mag·August 12, 2011This day was full of spots. But full of police, too. First spot was not good. Just few tricks and few photos on a small rail. Next spot happened to be a straight rail where cool switch-ups were landed by Dmitriy Shuganov.
The Making of the Blading Cup Trophy: Sayer Danforth Creates a Masterpiece Be-Mag·August 11, 2011What makes a competition unique are the elements that go into putting together a piece of art. Because, after all that truly is what a unique competition is. Anyone can hold a contest, have people gather, give each rider several run times, crown first through third, hand out a few prizes, and then call it a day. But, to go above and beyond when making the elements of a competition differ from others creates something individual in its own character. In the end, with all of the people involved and all of the hard work put into creating uniqueness, this said competition can grow into something bigger and stand out above the rest in a memorable way. After all, if you take this said competition and include unique features in a unique setting with the industrys top pro riders who in their own minds are creating art with how they use each piece within the contest then right there you have just brought art to life. Well, something to this magnitude needs to be creative on all accounts from the setting and obstacles, to the invites and promotion, all the way down to the last detail. This years first annual Blade Cup spared no detail in creating a masterpiece when Jon Julio thought of something far out in a concept for the trophy. I mean, this is Blading, right? The end result Well, youll just have to click down below and see for yourself.

I started my trip in Porto and stayed there at Marcello Oliveira's place. After some days of skating and filming for another project I went down south to meet up with Bruno Santos, who's the owner of Rove Skateshop in Leiria and made this little interview with him. We had great a time and it was really nice to be involved in his daily life!

Razors Week at Woodward West 2011 Article #1 by Brian Aragon Be-Mag·August 4, 2011This past week we were given the opportunity to go to Woodward West and have an official Razors Week in the mountains of Tehachapi, California. During the week Dre Powell, Julian Bah, Rachard Johnson, Erik Rodriguez and myself were all able to be in attendance. For many years the name Woodward has been associated with great skate parks and a summer destination for extreme athlete enthusiasts. Growing up I never had the opportunity to experience the camp aspect of Woodward, it was not until I turned pro that I was able to visit the facility and enjoy everything they had to offer.
Nomades Tour 2011 in Vienna & Salzburg by Jean Christophe Baller Be-Mag·August 2, 2011When we arrive in Vienna it rains. We use this day to relax, work on the edits and the pictures in hopes that tomorrow will be better. After an early and hearty breakfast, Wolf, our guide for this stop, arrives at exactly 10am, ready to help us to discover the city. He takes us to a long S-shaped red curb, a bit jaded by the many riders that have previously skated it but our team is happy to have a go at it. The session suddenly comes to an end by the heavy rain that starts to fall on our heads. While Rob continues to grind the pavement he gets soaked to the bone.
