In 2001 I briefly met a man who everyone was trying to speak to, all the young skater kids wanted to see his next big trick and I have to admit I did, too. This man was Richard John Taylor who had been ripping up the scene since he turned professional at the age of 15 after winning the World Amateur International Inline Skate Series. If you have never heard of Richard, someone you know would have. All you have to do is see videos of Richard to see why he was so admired and famous for his upbeat attitude to life, he coined the phrase “It’s all good” and those three words could not encapsulate his character better.

We have so many skate parks in LA county. We also have a huge blade scene that is growing faster than ever. With those two things in mind Jonathan Labez, Jeremy Soderburg and myself, Quinn Feldman, decided to put together "First Sunday Sessions." So every first Sunday of every month we pick a skate park and organize a giant session.

Time to look ahead to the Slamm Jamm 13. Here is a short recap edit of what went down in the past years of this traditional UK rolling contest.

Anthony is a rider born and based out of Toulon, France. He has been rolling for years and always remained active in the sport. As one of the most known French riders he busted out in the past through many video sections and good competition results worldwide. His diverse style of riding reflects in multiple disciplines like street, vert and roller soccer and makes him a complete rollerblader with an unique style. Most people know him as a humble person that likes to go big even though it is getting harder as he gets older. The 27 years old European Vert Champion is constantly looking for new ways to promote the sport we all love so much and tries to involve young and talented riders into his activities all the time.

AWESOME tour stop at Edinburgh on Thursday. Chris Doughty and his girlfriend Lisa hooked it up big time with the accommodation the night before. A bunch of people turned up for the stop and Bailey showed us all exactly what he's all about working the cradle and bowls and dropping a bunch of hammers. Everybody sessioned the park for 7 hours straight. Tuffnell is injured after falling 15ft onto his ass in Aberdeen. He is out of commission for the rest of the tour now.

On April 9th, Hyper Mike held a competition at the Pier 25 skate park in Manhattan. The turnout for this battle style/jam session competition was great. Skaters from all over the Tri-State and NYC came out to watch the one on one battles and session the park. Among these bladers were Franco Cammayo, Hector "Tato" Gonzalez and special guest Dominik Wagner who came out to experience the NYC skate scene in full effect. It's been an eventful couple of days. We drove to Aberdeen on Tuesday in the daytime for the 6-10 session at Transition Extreme skatepark. Bailey worked the bowl while Leon murked the streetcourse. We went to a club in Aberdeen where Elliot got chucked out (/sneaked back in) 3 times. Aberdeen local Andrew Tough hooked us up BIG TIME with some apartments on the docks... heated bathroom floors and all the trimmings. Wednesday we managed to film 32 clips on one street spot thanks to Lomax, Elliot Stevens and local 'Gammy'...

Both tour vans arrived in Glasgow on Sun night. We brought Chaz Sands with us. Chaz hooked up a lock-in at Unit 23, only to mess up his shoulder on a cab 540 wall ride early on in the session. Monday night was the planned session at EK park in East Kilbride. The skatepark is less than a year old and part of a big sports complex... it also happens to be pretty frikkin awesome. Tuffnell killed it, Elliot did top acid up to disaster hurricane top acid down on the grind box plus more. Loads of clips got laced. Here's a few spares/tasters for you below plus photos...

Some more photos and video. Beautiful day at the Noiya Jam on Saturday. Lots of people chilling out side PLUS BBQ. Nick Lomax came 1st, Elliot Stevens 2nd Alex Burston 3rd. Burston also had the craziest collision with James Keyte (ending the whole contest in the process!) Hope your butts feel better guys! Lomax laced back to back tricks including his usual technical grind plus corkscrew 900 from quarter to flatbank. Elliot flowed the park and laced acid soul 720 and hurricane disaster Fish. Apparently there were 100 more people at the Jam than last year. Nice one Tim Darker!

As the weather gets nicer on the East Coast, bladers from all over are starting to flood New York City in hopes to catch the first clips of the season. Angelo Ferrer, owner of Art of Rolling Magazine, has taken it upon himself to organize tour events throughout NYC to kick off the Spring. Some of the most talented skaters in NYC and the Tri-State showed up for the first installment to shred for Art of Rollings camera. The tours intention is to conquer skate spots, new and old, and raise awareness of our sport throughout the city.
