If you've had the chance to see it at the BCSD this year you know this is something to look forward to. The World Rolling Series TV Pilot will be released to the public this Monday. Watch out!
I decided to hold this session a month ago because I did not see a lot of people since Winterclash and Try2Roll. I usually meet my friends from Stuttgart and Munich very rarely, too. A good movie and the facts that Marco Baltrokko is about to become a father, Highspeed Manu moves together with his long-time girlfriend and Daniel Rothenberger just got 30 years contributed in the title: Old Men In New Parks.
The Rolling Rock skate shop & park was founded in 1996 by Simon Eichenberger and Thomas Georg. Local heroes like Beni Huber started skating here and the Rolling Rock Team consisted of influential Swiss skaters like Sandro Brun, Jona Messerli, Cossimo Tassone und Beat Schillmeier. Theres just a small market for "aggressive" skating in Switzerland and thats one of the reasons why the skatepark is built to cater to families and their weekend recreation. A round course, hockey fields, a trampoline and lots of small stuff to have fun on with the family. Of course there was the big vert ramp and the large curved quarter which fills one entire side of the park.
On day 3 of the tour, we woke up to a sunny Tarragona's day, everything looked perfect, and we decided to go Reus Skatepark to meet with the other bladers and start the sesh. The weather was super hot under the killer spanish sun. For lunch time, we moved to a bar to have some tapas.
As a pure rolling magazine we are heavily interested in showing you the rawest and best talents in our industry. While you might have seen a dozen edits of these people, you most likely didn't get a chance to take a deeper look into their life outside the rolling aspect. With this new format we want to give you the opportunity to get to know more about your favourite pros. We decided to kick off this new picture-based format with Jeff Stockwell who has been in the game for more than a decade and has been one of the most influential rollers ever! Jeff sent us some of his favourite shots that open the curtain a bit and will give you a good insight into his character.
We arrived early at the Villanova la Geltru so we decided to eat an early lunch made up purely of meat, grease, fried foods, eggs and grease and went on to the park to represent. It was good to see some familiar faces of the Barcelona scene alongside a ridiculous amount of scooter riders. I had heard scootering was on the rise, but this was absolutely ridiculous. There was over 40 scooter riders per square meter.
Inercia is the most important shop in Spain, supporting a crew of the most representative and best street skaters from Barcelona. This crew just decided to have a chill weekend skating parks in towns around Barcelona, having good times with all the kids and bladers around!
Tuesday 10th of May. Around 3 pm we all met up at the first spot which is a really good ledge in the center of Linköping by this really big concert and performance center called Konsert & Kongress. The cops showed up and gave us escort the whole day so we could get on with our contest without having people interfere. On 4 pm we started the competition and as usual Joachim Wall, Samuel Cabezas and Joakim Lundberg were lacing good tricks on the ledge. We sessioned the ledge for about an hour and after announcing the best skater of the spot which was Samuel Cabezas we all moved on to the next spot.
Razors is proud to release the first pro skate of one of our most popular riders on the team: Stefan Horn Horngacher. Featuring upgraded plastic shell and souls, as well as new Rzr liners. His first pro skate is the world premiere for Ground Controls Formula 1 XS frame. Highlight of the frame is a wider split which provides significantly more grinding area even with a 4 wheels flat set up. Also, the axle bolts are deeper recessed and the H-block area is thicker giving the frame even more strength and durability. The maximum wheel size is 60 mm (outside) or 56 mm if riding 4 wheels flat.
Based on the popular Formula 1 frame, Ground Controls new F1 XS frame features an extra wide split, deeper recessed axle bolts and a thicker H-block; 15 mm wider than the split found on the traditional F1 frame. The maximum wheel size is 60 mm (outside) and/or 56 mm if riding 4 wheels flat. It also comes with the smaller axle bolt heads of the FLT2 frames resulting in increased material around the axels for even more durability.
Welcome to the midwest. Witness the endless spread of corn. The tilled earth reborn. You are now traveling through a story about rollerblading a story about what its like to be a rollerblader in a small town, about the bonds between bladers, about the confusion of growing up, about really bad skate spots. You are entering another dimension. Thats the sign post up ahead...

On May 7th, a few good friends and I headed down to the Neglected Truth Skate Shop 7th Annual Birthday Box Jam. The jam was held in an empty parking lot down the street on just about the grittiest piece of black top you could ask for. The lot is sloped downhill and provides for a perfect street course; minus the hike back up every 3 minutes. This year the jam had more obstacles than ever and lived up to its expectations. The NT Birthday Box Jam seems to improve each year and maintains support from some of the gnarliest of bladers.
Friday 6th of May around midnight Joe Atkinson arrived in Linköping as our secret guest rider for the Skateweek comps and demos. Joe has been a good friend of mine for years now and I'm really happy to have him over for this event. As it was getting late we just chilled for a bit then went to bed since Saturday was gonna be a busy day for us.
First week of clearance sale is over! From 400 products they started with, only around 270 are left. And for everything that is left, a lot of sizes are already sold out. So you better act fast!
Joachim Wall, Richard Karlsson and me have had countless meetings and email conversations about how to do this and we have finally agreed on everything. On Saturday we started off with a mini-ramp demo outside Linköpings biggest shopping mall called Ikano-Huset. Our guest from England Joe Atkinson will also be on the demo team and stay the whole week (big thanks to Oli Benet and The Conference!). We expect sick skating and good times during the whole week.
