This Winterclash came with a lot of surprises. The biggest to me was how much talent there was at the juniors [level]. Not to mention, I’ve never seen so many bladies at in a skate park. [To] see how many girls and woman skate, makes me wonder if Jojo should think about extending [Winterclash] one day longer to fit all the heats. Same for the AMs; there were soooo many heats and talented skaters competing.
The pro qualification was awesome and exceptionally technical this year. The park at times felt too small for the pros...a lesson Bobi Spassov and sem Croft learned when both of them landed fakie into each others’ backs.
The competition was focused between the Dutch, French and Joe [Atkinson]. I will say, the Japanese skaters were are on fire!
Hopefully we don’t have to wait 3 years for the next Winterclash!
