WINTERCLASH 2023 | THROUGH THE LENS OF CLEMENT BARBAZA

PHOTOS & WORDS | STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER CLÉMENT BARBAZA @___BUFFLE___

After 3 years, Winterclash is finally back. You could feel the hype of the community all over social media in the weeks prior. Everybody was excited to be back there! A new skatepark has been built, and nobody knew what to expect.

As always the skating was amazing. The new course looked fun tho really technical to skate (but who cares). I was there to have a good time with friends I don’t get to see as much I would like. People from all over the world came, and the community felt united once again. Didn’t get to see everything, cause, you know, I was busy drinking a beer with the homies, making memories and having a laugh.

I was impressed by few things:

The amount of kids and women skating. It’s probably the first time there have been so many women and kids entering a comp. The future looks bright for sure.

Ren Fujirawa, Yuto Goto and David Sizemore were incredible to watch.

Miguel’s hommage to our fellow bladers who recently past away gave me goosebumps. Thank you for this Miguel.

And THANK YOU to the Winterclash team, you made it happen again, in a really smooth way. Too bad we have to wait another year to be there again.
