Your skating is mature and solid for your age, who influenced your skating style?
It’s been 2 years that I skate a lot with Matt Ledoux. Just seeing him skating makes me want to improve myself and have fun. He influences me a lot because he is one of the most solid and steezy guys I know.
How long have you been skating?
It has been a good 6 years now.
If you had to organize your dream session, where would it be and with whom?
There are too many places I want to go to… but I would most likely go to California because this is the place where you can find the best spots and best skateparks. I would like to skate with Jon Jon Bolino or Rob Guerrero because they look like they have a lot of fun on their blades.
Some people may not know but you only recently started skating street. Why have you waited so long?
I was skating my skatepark and really loved it. In my mind street was too difficult so I was just skating park. But I just started to skate street a few months ago and now I’m addicted!
What’s the biggest difference for you skating street or park?
The largest difference for me between street and park is that skate park is beautiful and smooth all the time, but in street you have to deal with the steps, rocks, holes, etc… Things you wouldn’t expect.
Do you think you’ll always wear a helmet while filming? Have you always put one while skating?
Yes, I put on a helmet every time I put on my skates. Just about two years ago I hit my head in Ottawa skating. I spent 2 minutes unconscious and 9 hours in the shock room at the hospital.
Who’s bringing rollerblading in the right direction right now?
In Quebec, I think the companies that support rollerblading are Lylac Skateshop and Rollerblade. Lylac is the only Rollerblader owned shop here and Rollerblade is the only brand that tries to help skaters down here. In terms of skaters I think skaters like Rob G because he is always smiling when he skates, so kids want to try to skate because he just has a fun vibe going. WRS is one of the best things that happened during the last years. It helps rollerblading to appear more organized. And Be-Mag is definitely the best website!
What would you do if it would be – for whatever reason – impossible for you to skate anymore? Do you have any other interests?
Hummm, I’ll stay in the rollerblading industry, maybe selling blades, working in a shop or something. Except rollerblading, I like to travel, meet new people, discover different cultures. I’m interested into martial arts, too.
What would you do with $10.000 right now?
I would help my friend Guillaume Roy with his skate shop Boutique Lylac. I’d help the team to travel, doing tours across Canada and all over the world!
You just turned 18 and have been busy this year with travels and comps. What are your plans for the next months?
I plan to shoot as much as possible for Lylac Skateshop and Family Matters 2. And participate in as many contests as possible!
