The first night inside of Roskilde Festival, you sleep poorly. Your body needs a while to get used to the cold. Your bladder needs to be emptied frequently during the night, which you will blame on the festival’s main sponsor. You eventually wake up one more time, to the sound of loud music blasting everywhere on the camping site. If you add a serious headache in the mix, this would be just enough to make for a shitty day. Yet the magic happens anyway: you can’t help but smile.

Sunday is the first day of blading shows, and things start off proper with a high energy qualification round on the Street City skatepark. Returning champion Dave Lang gets first place, joined in the finals by a crowd pleasing Montre Livingston, high spinning Nick Lomax, surprise ending Richie Eisler, ever smiling Dominic Bruce, & first timing Worapoj Boonnim… As well as Roskilde local and crowd favorite, 13 years old shredder Felix Fälling to spice things up a little more even!
But Sunday is also the start of the first live acts on stage, and you have just enough time to get drunk before AV AV AV opens the revamped Apollo stage, while MØ sets Street City on fire! The power of music is strong, and once unleashed, keeps everyone dancing until early in the morning… And leaves you with aching feet and one hell of a hangover! The untold stories, schlongs and shenanigans, we will keep for another time, so stay tuned for Update #2, online tomorrow!
