Faction Skate Company have been on one hell of a hot streak since they hit the market, and although their first initial offerings were mainly soft-boot skates, the brand has made their first venture into hard boot skates with their new Plastik V1 model. The Plastiks V1 is their first injection-molded, plastic hard boot skate platform, which features a new cuff system and high-performance liner. Roces has also dropped the third pro skate for the Russian wildman, pro rider Ilia Savosin. STANDARD | OMNI V2 SKATE
The Standard Skate Company recently dropped their new & improved Omni V2 skate, which is the upgraded version of their initial offering the Omni V1 (obviously). For the Omni V2 skate, Standard took some of the feedback from the skating community and were quick to address the issues in their second offering to provide one of the best fitting and performing skates on the market. For the Omni V2, Standard used a new plastic material for the cuff and shell which is more flexible and designed with extra room in the toe box to allow for a roomier fit. Inside the shell, the V2 Comfort liner sports a plush, heat moldable padding which is now thinner around the heel and ankle to accommodate the new more flexible shell. They have also increased the length, width and height of the liner to completely fill the shell.
To make things even easier for skaters to customize their setups to their liking, Standard have built a custom app to let you create your own custom Omni V2 based on their new two color ways, that way you can mix and match parts to find the colors that work best for you. But Standard isn’t stopping there. They have also shared the design of the Omni base with the developer community so you can create your own soul plates which fit the Omni perfectly. In addition to releasing its Omni V2 model, Standard has released its first signature model pro skate for Yandriel Silverio. The fresh new skate comes in a unique brown, orange and tan colorway which was inspired by the mamey sapote, the official fruit of Cuba.
