SKATE REVIEW & WORDS BY EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: KEVIN LITTLE, @KEVINMLITTLE
Montre Livingston is widely regarded as one of the best inline skaters to ever strap on a pair of skates. Having had a successful run under the Powerslide-owned brand USD for years, it was only right that Montre earned himself an opportunity to run his own brand, which sparked the creation of IQON Skates. From the get-go, IQON established itself as a premium skate brand that prides itself in using only high-end products to give skaters the best quality & most durable options available. With Montre’s natural skating talent comes with it a genius mind when it comes to skate design. If you have been following Montre’s career than you know that he is also an incredibly talented & successful shoe customizer. (Check out the article we did highlighting his custom-designed kicks here.)
With Montre’s years of skating experience & shoe customization expertise, it was only a matter of time before he was given the opportunity to design his own skates for IQON. And the final result is the AG 15 Gemini skates, which were released in two eye-catching colorways, a light tan & white Rastafarian-inspired color scheme & an equally beautiful black & white pair, which made choosing between the two quite difficult. I chose the white & tan version & after receiving the skates, I am glad that I did! They are one of the best looking skates I have had in my nearly three decades of skating (dang, I feel old even saying that!) But I digress, they are beautiful! And the fact that the skates were delivered to me on my birthday made for one hell of a present that I was especially grateful for!
My initial video review was from my first week on the skates but the filming process for the video took a little longer than expected as I had some recurring injuries that kept halting my progress, but after a few months on the Montre’s I can sayMy initial video review was from my first week on the skates. Still, the filming process for the video took a little longer than expected as I had some recurring injuries that kept halting my progress. Still, after a few months on the Montre’s I can say they are some of the best skates I have used, from comfort, performance, & durability, they checked all the appropriate boxes for me, with the only major dispute being the stock wheels softness, which is understandable considering stock wheels are notoriously bad across the board. Peep the full review & the clips from the few months or so on the skates & thanks again to Disroyal, Powerslide, & Montre Livingston for the incredible opportunity to test these out & be sure to pick up a pair of the new IQON Montre Livingston AG 15s, which are in most major skate shops now & available direct from Disroyal now here.
