HARDGOODS
To start this week’s article, we want to highlight the new “RL1” liner from one of blading’s longest running and most dedicated brands, Roces Skates. The “RL1” liner is a sleek, high-end liner that has many unique features such as a creative lacing system that looks to prevent the dreaded heel lift that is so prevalent within certain skate models. With the lack of quality skate liners available these days, the “RL1” is a welcome addition to the market and looks to give the Intuition liner a run for it’s money as far as high end liners are concerned. More info on the “RL1” liners will hopefully be provided soon.

The Compass brand looks to be taking a dip into the inline skating frame market with a new big wheel UFS frame option in two different height options, a 72mm version and also a 80mm version. Compass owner Lawrence Ingraham had this to say about what prompted Compass to develop a new big wheeled frame.
“We had tested a bunch of different frames on the market and we realized really quickly that the bigger you get, the more slop and the more support you need.”
The frames are made with the same glass-filled nylon material that is used within the 50/50 Balance frames, so if you are a fan of the solid and rigid construction of the 50/50 frames, but are looking for something to fit your powerblading desires, than the Compass frames should suit your big wheeling needs. The frames are still in development but we should hopefully have more info on them soon.
