My 2014: CJ Wellsmore

2014 has been a good one. New products got released, people traveled from all over the world to visit some of the great events out there, awesome videos and edits came out and the vibe has been great in general. But of course, everyone’s got their personal favorites and we wanted to know how 2014 looked like for some of our favorite pro riders.

Australia’s CJ Wellsmore had an outstanding 2014, and even describes it himself as the most memorable year of his life. Looking at the list of places he went to and thinking about him winning Winterclash and Blading Cup in the same year while skating his own signature model, well, it’s an easy one to understand. Any specific moment or experience that stood out in 2014?
After Marseille pro bowl I decided to make my way back across France by hitchhiking a ride with 3 Quebec gypsy girls in a big old weathered motorhome! I’m not sure if it was the dumpster diving or the 40kph shit caravan putting down the highway that made this an experience that I’ll never forget. Either way it was an eye opener.

What was your worst moment in 2014?
I’d have to say having my passport stollen in Guangzhou, China just after missing my flight and having no money would have to be the most fucked thing that happened to me in 2014. It’s not my first rodeo however and I’ve become quite accustomed at dealing with these situations!

Is there such thing as the best day in 2014?
2014 was by far the most memorable year of my life! The amount of “best days” that I was lucky enough to experience have become incredible stories that I will tell when I’m an old man.
