Pretty girls walking everywhere, sunny weather, loud music and energy drinks commercials: like every year, the world of action sports is gathered in Montpellier for the 19th edition of the FISE! Some of the best athletes on the planet in their respective field, along with huge structures and several amazing parks built right in the center of the French city: this all makes for one amazing week where nothing matters but triple tail whips and sold out FMX shows!

This also makes for one of the longest running blade events on the planet, since in the middle of all that extreme universe, there is still some room for us bladers. And to start the week off right, a selection of 20 fine bladers were invited to shred the BMX park on their wheeled boots! This wednesday, aggressive skaters put on a great show for the crowd, and judging by the people’s reaction, it seems like they enjoyed it just as much as if we were riding scooters instead!
Top 5 bladers selected for the finals included Seba’s Antony Pottier and CJ Wellsmore, who respectively got 5th and 4th place with powerful lines and a handful of retarded stunts. Park experts Roman Abrate and Steve Swain battled for the podium and spun more and higher than anyone else, getting a close 3rd and second place, while Joe Atkinson surprised everyone with smooth tricks and perfect lines, killing every little bit of the park on his very own way to 1st place!
As the first main event of the week, which is broadcasted live all over the globe and gets the unprepared masses to scream for fruitbooting, this park invitational was arguably the best of its kind since its inception, 2 years ago. The great mix of technical riding, high stunts and big spins, along with some of the smoothest, most original park blading we have seen in recent years all made for a great start, and there is a lot more to come on the slopestyle course today, so stay tuned for our next Live Update, online very soon on this very website!
