Blade Check: Clément Boucau

Clément Boucau is the kind of blader whose style you remember long before their actual name. He is also the kind of person whose smile you will experience way before you truly get to know them. The talented French skater has evolved quite a bit since he once won a Franco Shade sponsorship, and managed to stay relevant through the years despite sporadic video performances. He has also grown up as a person, and eventually became the adult he often claimed to be, way before the fact.

However, with adulthood come more responsabilities, and his most recent section in Wolfpack, Arcena‘s second team video, came out over two years ago now. Having heard little about Clément since he got picked up by Valo in the meantime, we decided to catch up with him as we was busy getting his final clips for The Booted, in what promises to be his best section to date, and inspected the setup that kept him rolling through the ups & downs of these past 13 months of filming!

Describe your personal blade set up?
All the v.13. They look so nice, like really small feet, and they are really reactive. And the forest green, because it is the best color for me.

What parts do you wear through the quickest?
Wheels and bearings.

What part do you break most often?
The left buckle because I fall like a true american stuntman.

Which parts are you paranoid about breaking?
None.

What spares/tools do you keep in your backpack?
Allen keys, wax, wheels, bearings and a couple of left buckles.

Where do your parts go once you are done with them?
I give the rest to friends or someone who need it.

Flat or Freestyle?
Anti-rocker.

Anything you plan to change on you current setup?
Not at the moment.

Do you skate different setups for different terrain?
Big wheels, only for the city cruising though.

What was your very first skate setup?
Rollerblade Menace.

What was the best setup you’ve had to date?
Salomon Aaron Feinberg.

Could you describe your dream setup?
My skates now, simple and effective. Always white frames and sober boots. No fucking rainbow colored wheels and skates. Or my next setup «GENTLEMAN» pro Clément B: black boots, white frames, «TINDERBOYEXTREMEWAXING». My dream.”
