Quite honestly, we need more girl skaters in general to bring more diversity and more different perspectives to rollerblading. This is a topic soon to be discussed in a ‘For your consideration’ column by Frank Stoner, but let’s get back to Rosie O’Donoghue’s skating. The inherent sexism of all male dominated sports rears it’s ugly head in rollerblading too, most often by judging a girl if she can keep up with her male peers. And if we decide to look at it from that perspective, yes, she can obviously hold her own. But Rosie is good enough to transcend these imposed gender perspectives. She’s just good, good, good.
After a rant that takes longer to read than is the lenghth of the edit, just enjoy Seba team rider Rosie O’Donoghue’s skating.
