Home News Blade Media News The Big Chill Competition was recently held at Asylum Skatepark in Round Lake, Illinois, and skaters braved the harsh weather conditions to partake in the festivities. Lava Skates pro rider Mike French was in attendance for the competition and had this to say about the event. The Big Chill Competition was an adventure in itself to get to. With temperatures throughout the Midwest dipping down to -20s and -30s with the wind chill. People came from all over the Midwest to be a part of this community, and Resurgence Skate Shop made it possible for us to attend! I went to get a photo for the new Lava Skates release and ended up placing first! It wasn’t on my radar, but the energy was real, the park was just right, and the amount of talent and history in that park was undeniable! This was an amazing experience to be involved in, and I hope they decide to throw these year after year! Here are some of the things captured from that trip documented by Falcon Gott! For everyone who skated, brought their kids to the event, and to everyone who helped put this together or had anything to do with helping make this happen, we appreciate you!– Mike French FOLLOW THE BIG CHILL COMP ON INSTAGRAM HEREBe sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more quality skate content.
