Bobi Spassov of Inferno recently linked up with Nick Kouros of Syeahskate to film a new profile shot in the beautiful streets of Athina Greece. Nick absolutely slays the filming and editing on this night-time piece (as expected) and Bobi once again shows why he is one of the most respected skaters in the game with a perfect blend of control and style, along with a fair share of amplitude and creativity. It all started when Nick Kouros (@nicholaskouros) shared his vision: a night-only project set to a song he had in mind. The moment I heard it, I felt it. The vibe was undeniable, and my imagination took off. A week or two later, we kicked off our first session. This project, I let Kouros take the creative reins, which was a refreshing change for me. Aside from a few critiques (because let’s face it, I’m annoying fucker.), I focused on just being a skater.
My goal? Nail first tries, embrace the imperfections, and keep it raw. The grungy, sketchy vibe of the night and Athens itself felt right for this. No hunting for “perfect” spots or trying to pack in bangers—just skating what came our way. And it worked for the most part.
Over the course of a few months, through 10 sessions, injuries, and balancing other projects, we built this piece. The final two sessions, as the weather turned cold, brought everything full circle.
That rail line? It started in summer with a bad fall. two months off due to lack of light. Coming back on our last day, nailing it (with some trick changes), felt like the perfect ending.
Night projects are no joke. Limited vision, light setups, and the extra effort make it harder than daytime filming. But it also brings something unique—a vibe that’s worth every challenge.- Bobi Spassov
