Feature Article #8: Fear
Afraid Premiere
Despite
of everybody saying Bakersfield is full of farmland
and hicks, it's a bit more urban than you might think.
The Centennial Garden attracts WWE (formerly WWF) wrestling,
NBA, the NHLas well as Disney on ice. Jerry's Pizza
delivers some of the coolest bands not only in the Bakersfield
area, but also outside the vicinity like Guttermouth,
Voodoo Glowskulls and the infamous Weezer.

Feature Article #7: IMYTA
Liverpool
Basically
I went to England for three reasons. First I was there
to shoot some photos with Adam Kola for my Be-mag interview,
which will never come out because nobody where I live
can take photos. Haha. Then, I figured I would go during
the IMYTA because I might as well check that out while
I'm there. Third I was informed that there was a Salomon
tour throught the UK at the same time that so I went
on that too.

Feature Article #5: IMYTA
Montreal
Skating
has been getting more and more global exposure over
the past few years and nothing shows this better than
the IMYTA and Monsters of Roll events. Over the past
3 years they have spread out from solely taking place
in California, to spanning much of the globe. Montreal
was lucky enough to get a stop from both the MOR and
the IMYTA this year.

Feature Article #4: Sacramento
When
everybody thinks of NorCal, they will automatically
think of places like San Francisco and San Jose which
is understandable since some of the most infuential
skaters and people have come out of these areas reppin'
NorCal since day one, but there's a spot up here that
most people don't think of when you hear about NorCal.

Feature Article #3: Denial
Tour 2002
In
my everyday online boredom, I stumbled onto the Denial
Clothing site to find that Chris Majette and the team
were going on a small East Coast Tour. Beginning the
Detroit IMYTA the tour would span for approximately
1 weeks time and have a planned schedule of the following
cities...

Feature Article #2: Life
Plus #2 Premiere
I
was really excited to go to the premiere of the second
issue of Life +. It sucked that I had to have an accident
that Wednesday, which restricted me from driving to
the premiere (damn I even had a date planned out for
that night, but no worries). However, thank you Matt
Mickey for the ride there.

Feature Article #1: Irish
Real Street Comp
It's
nothing short of a phenomenon. Street comps are popping
up everywhere and people could care less about about
the ASA these days. It's true to say that it was only
a matter of time before Ireland played host to one.
I decided to hold it sooner rather than later and on
Saturday 16th March the Irish Real Street Comp took
place in Cork City, Ireland. It was to conincide with
the Irish Championships, but they were cancelled at
the last minute. Oh well.

Our

stealing" installments. See skating from all around

Australia, the Bitter Cold Showdown in the USA, the

the people who want to get into photography and naturally

#8: Life rocks and I'm tripping
After
being on tour the new Be-mag issue is finally here.
It features a Joseph Shull, Alex Broskow and Mike Martinho
interview and Be-mag tour report. Check out what was
going on at the IMYTA Paris, the first IMYTA ever to
take place in Europe and a Ucon company profile. The
masterminds behind this company are Martin Fussenegger
and Jochen Smuda, read more in the profile. Reid Zachofsky
was kind enough to give us some insight into the ECTSC,
one of those contests that are popping up all around
the world and strife to strengthen the scene. Moreover
there's the occasional news and rumors and Devo speaks
his mind about the future of rollerblading. Lean back
and enjoy the articles and photos.
This issue is dedicated to James Page who decided to
leave Be-mag some time ago. You will be missed here.
Peace and we wish you good luck with your future projects.

#7: Destruction/Reconstruction
Finally
Issue 7 is finished and it is jam packed with content.
We tried to profile people who are about to go big and
chose to interview the following 3 skaters: Ryan Northway,
Erick Garcia and Axel Duennwald. If you followed the
leap of faith hype, these are 2 of the guys who tried
to jump the leap of faith. Although this speaks for
their skating it isn't something that defines them.
Find out what really makes them tick. As for Axel Duennwald
he definitely belongs to Germany's top skaters. Always
friendly and smiling he is one of the nicest and down
to earth skaters I have ever met. Furthermore we profiled
Jeff Stockwell. See how this kid, shows pros what skating
is about and how he rips up stuff with his smooth style.
Check out the company profiles, news and rumors and
crew reports. You won't be dissapointed.

#6: Touring
Tourin'
is one of the main aspects in the life of inline skaters.
Open your eyes to what happens in other places and you
will progress.
Therefore we tried to cover different tours and people
from all kinds of places all around the world. This
issue we featured the Truespin Nasty Tour in Germany,
the UPN Crew, the CAT Tour finals in Toronto.
Skaters that were profiled were Chris Weber, Abdiel
Colberg and Mark Eshelham. All from different places,
representing different unique style. Sit back and enjoy
the tour.

Issue
#5: Resistance
During
the Nazi era the Austrian resistance used the numbers
05 to identify their members. Therefore we decided to
name this issue the resistance issue. Yep.
Check it out. Do not believe what you are told and
don' t do as you are told. This is what you have to
do when you're inline skating. Be a strong individual
and believe in what you do. Don't believe everything
what others tell you. Resist.

Issue
#4: Rock On
Rock
on. This was some sort of rocking issue, since we were
heavily influenced by Jon Elliott for this issue. And
if you know him, you know he's rocking. Here we have
a profile on him and a profile on the then new clothing
company Mindgame. Watch out for a lot of Cali pics in
here and also a profile on Ian Frennete, probably one
of the most under-rated skaters out there.

#3: Breakthrough
Be-
mag breaks through. If you don't believe that, just
click through this issue, which features the first ever
Dominic Sagona interview. Further adding to it there
are interviews with Sascha Huber, Hoang Phung and Robert
Guerrero. Yep, you heard right. As if this wasn't already
enough Arlo and Devo raise their voices and speak their
minds, which is exactly what we want to do - give people
a platform to speak their minds.

#2: We Love Top Mistrals
Yes
sir, we do. We also love all these crazy germans pulling
them. This basically a Phat crew report. It has tons
of interviews with the company's owner Frank Stuhec
and its teamriders, Matthias Peterka, Guido Rosenkranz,
Sven Schillings and the Petry brothers.
Moreover Oblivion mastermind Gary Yeung speaks about
his company and crew which features the likes of Ernie
Ramos, Hoang Phung, and many more.

#1: Always The First - IS BACK
There's
probably nothing better to start a web-zine with than
interviewing Eric Schrijn and Mark Vanderboegh of SixWonSix
Clothing. Guess what, we did that and it worked. Moreover
there's an interview with 817's Kenny Oyedeji talking
about his and online mags in general.
It was so amazing to do this. When we did it, we weren't
sure if people would like this mag, but luckily they
did and gave us the input and ideas to keep this mag
going. Props go out to all people who've been reading
be-mag since this issue!
