Okay, first off, apologies for not getting back to everyone. Our stop in Phoenix was amazing though. Gretchin and James are fantastic people and everyone in the area should support them for what they are doing. The shop looked amazing and the turnout of skaters was rediculous and I got to see a lot of old faces. We headed out to the park and had a session in the very cool 95 degree heat! Shane Singer and a few locals showed us around ASU so we could film and do some things. I liked everything about the session…except for bruising my heel like an idiot and not being able to skate this whole time. As the session winded down we realized that it was 3 am and we had no place to stay. So we found a park out back behind Tory’s friend Justin’s house and the boys pulled out the sleeping bags and camped out in the park. Micah and I sleep in the open van so we were out of sight, but apparently the lady across the street thought Tory was dead and called the fire department. The men in red arrived and made sure that no one was dead, overdosed, or beaten to a pulp then left us to our napping in the sun. The heat woke us up just as we intended it to do and we headed off to Las Vegas early! The drive was’nt too bad and as soon as we passed the Hoover Dam, we found God’s Skate Park…The best banks I’ve seen with handrails at the top that you could launch out to. The only bad thing was the 20 mph wind gusts that inhibited the smoothness of lines…That is if you are’nt a Heat rider ;) After enduring the blistering desert sun and winds out of the movie Hidalgo, we came to the old town of Vegas. Now if you’re unfamiliar with this part, let me inform you that this is where the great Rat Pack made home and created the Vegas we know today. Just being in the town makes you want to get a whiskey and listen to that hot brunette sprawl over the piano and sing in that voice ladened with too many cigarettes. A quick nap and shower later, we were off with whiskey in hand wondering the streets. Half way through I passed out only to awake to three English women and beer…Rally!!! p.s. Bars, clubs and pubs don’t close here. So when you walk out and it’s sunny, don’t be scared, it’s normal. The next day the locals showed us around the town skating, famous skateboard spots and UNLV. Everyone skated amazing at the first spot with clips and photos that are rediculous. Bailey laced super hard tech tricks on these down ledges as did Micah and Jeff. Oli came through with the hammer and ill photo. UNLV was sick, with what can be described as the biggest hammer of the trip ala Bailey. I can’t even properly describe the trick, no justice will be done but I’ll say that when you see the video, you won’t be dissapointed! After the icing of my heel and a good nap we ventured out for more debauchery and repeat the next night. We awoke early on Monday morning to drive out to Utah back to Tory’s place. We met up with the largest amount of locals we’ve seen on the tour (which is hard to do considering the amount of skaters in beautiful Phoenix). The park was amazing and the weather was a stark change from the blistering sun of the past week in the desert, but a good change none the less. Everyone had fun talking to one another and skating. I had a sling shot and you can only imagine what ensued. As for today, we are going skating for the last few days of the trip are approaching. Look forward to the photos and hijinks!!!

Viva Las Vegas - Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 18:08 - By JERO
It’s been tough finding a place with wireless, but I’m sitting in a random parking lot outside a thrift store right now. Everybody is getting outfits to film the intro for the Heat video. After a great stop in Phoenix with all the Revolution guys, we hit the road towards Las Vegas. It has been a crazy few days. We’re all staying at a hotel in old Vegas, near the Freemont screen which is the worlds biggest big screen and lights up the sky. I’m honestly a bit surprised we haven’t gotten kicked out of the hotel yet, with the amount of noise and partying and trashcan tipping and water throwing mania that has been going on. Last night we ran into Jeromy Morris and family at the Flamingo casino.
Skating has been going really well here, just past the Hoover Dam we found an awesome bank/ditch spot with lines of launches to rails. We hit up some famous Vegas spots, I think the whole team got clips on these sick down ledges. Eric did the craziest trick of the tour so far last night… a gap over wall to 2 story roof grind, one of the most rediculous tricks I’ve ever seen in my life. St.Ours is out of commission right now with a bruised heel, and Tory’s knee is pretty messed up after a bad fall followed by getting tackled last night be the rest of the team.
Sayer and Alex drove in from California and have been kickin it the last few days. Other than that, I’m really not allowed to speak of the other madness that has been going on in Vegas, too much blackmail potential. If you’ve ever been here you know how crazy things get. Just keep an eye out for the DVD for a sneak peek. I’m getting back in the van before I get robbed, and will speak to you next time we can steal some wireless.

Sirens getting closer - Friday, May 26, 2006 at 09:47 - By JERO
So i heard sirens coming from miles away heading this direction. I didnt think much of it until a fire truck came roaring down this road towards us and stopped in front of me. Apparently somebody saw Tory sleeping on the ground next to the van and called the cops because they thought something was wrong. Its all under control now. Something tells me we’ll find a starbucks within the hour

Grass Beds - Friday, May 26, 2006 at 09:34 - By JERO
Just woke up, it’s early morning in Phoenix. We had 10 people offer great places to sleep, and somehow we ended up sleeping on the ground in a random park in some neighborhood. I walked past some houses until i found one with a wireless signal. We had an awesome day yesterday with the revolution guys, their shop is immaculate. After some chillin and pizza, we skated the Tempe park followed by a Bust-free ASU session. After a great night of skating we ended up at Dennys, where Carl offered the Lumberjack challenge to Oli. If he could finish all the food he would pay both meals, and Oli would pay if he couldnt. It was about an hour long battle, and oli had to loosen hit belt a few notches, but he somehow managed to scarf it all down. Everybody is waking up from the ground “camping”, so i think it’s time to head to vegas. More photos will be posted tonight.

This state is really Mars... - Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 13:45 - By wasteland
So we woke up at Tory’s place with a long day ahead of us. We had to drive to St. George during the day. The drive was gorgeous but long which resulted in a rest stop ice cream fight. Needless to say I have mine coming! Right when we got into the city, Tory decided to take us to these rock formations called “the Narrows”. They are super thin and you have to slide through, no claustraphobics allowed! After our nature excursion, we headed out to the store for water and caps for our cap gun when, for the umteenth time, we were asked “what club are you guys playing at”? Maybe Heat should become a band! We went to the local cement park where old schooler Cameron Levitt met us there and we filmed for a bit before shooting some photos with the cool ass locals. We hopped in the van and drove off into the Utah sunset to Las Vegas with a stop at Mesquitte. This is where we went into a small casino and ate at one of those trashy buffet’s that in all actuallity, was pretty fucking good! Jero won $50 and Oli did a bad ass line under all the glitter and lights. We then drove the 80 miles to Vegas and met up with one of Tory’s hot friends…I’m serious, she was hot. After getting a few beers and wondering around Ceasers Palace, we realized it was 2:30 am and we had to be in Phoenix by 9:00 am to pick up Micah Yeager at the airport. Tory took on the duty of driving all night to get us there and by the time I woke up at 6:00 am, he was dead tired and I drove the rest of the short way there. After we swooped up Micah, we went and met Tory’s good friend Justin. He took us to a breakfast place where we ate a much needed meal and drank an even more needed coffee. We ended up crashing out at Justins house to escape the 110 degree Phoenix sun. I awoke to find Justin (who races crotch rockets for a living mind you) wrenching away on his bike so Tory could ride it. This was entertaining to see Tory on this bad ass bike when Jeff and Micah were riding around on a bike that was electric and looked like they stole it from a circus. Then we headed off to the mall, the boys saw DaVinci Code, Micah and I had coctails at the local Game Works and then we headed off to the skate park to meet up with James and the gang. After a brief water fight, we got cleaned up and headed off to a little indie bar where we met “the girl with red shoes”. This girl was our waitress at breakfast and Tory, with all his macho bravado, pulled and got her to call us and meet us there with some of her friends. That was an end of a good night and today we go to Revolution skate shop!!!
