Inri Clothing Announcement & Lookbook 2009 - 09/06/17
1. On many of the Inri pieces we find crosses, depictions of Jesus, and overall religious symbolism. How does Inri relate to these Christian symbols? Is Inri a Christian inspired brand? What is the connection between rollerblading lifestyle and religiosity?
Um well I have always used the † on all of our videos, I had an article come out in the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper years back about me titled "religiously blading" where I explained to the reporters that rollerblading was more than my life it was my religion and that I was able to gain a higher understanding of life through rollerblading. And then ever since then I just used the cross in all of my art, my videos and almost anything I have done. I just think it is rad to be TRULY dedicated to something, whatever it may be, I don’t think necessarily everyone HAS TO be a religiously dedicated rollerblader but I just think its important to have some dedication to whatever you do, whether you are a shoe smith, a cloth maker, a graffiti writer or whatever. I just like shit that is cool and I would want to wear and represent shit that I think is truly fucking rad and I think dedication is TRULY FUCKING RAD.

2. On the website you write that Inri is not a brand but is rather a crew. Who does the crew consist of? Why do you make this distinction between crew and brand? How does this crew mentality affect the esthetic of Inri cloth?
Joey Chase, Ben Schwab, Oli Short, Victor Galicia, Sean Sea and Kevin Yee. The crew affects the way it looks because all of our styles are made by the crew, and all of the cloth making is actually done by crew members so you know your getting some real shit!
3. The rollerblading community knows you best for your skating, antics, and graffiti work in the apple dvds. Is Inri connected to the Apple films in any way? How did Inri evolve out of your experience documenting your self and the blading lifestyle? Nah not really connected, INRICLOTH was kinda my graduation present from the Apple series, it was like "now that I am done with that whets next? how about a clothing line? and it was funded by the Apple Series DVDs, so it was kinda like my way to give back to rollerblading with some sicksider shit you know
4. What can we expect from Inricloth in the next couple years? -- In terms of videos, new lines, and the promotion of Inri to both the blading and non blading world.
Well we have been filming for the first team video and we are REALLY stoked on what we have so far and we have a couple surprises for you, a couple old school rippers who cannot be forgotten have come back and started ripping harder than they ever have, so its sick actually, INRI has kind of given me an opportunity and an excuse to help motivate some of the older but not dead yet homeys who have lost motivation. And as far as new lines, we have a new line coming out for the fall from a really amazing designer that will blow you away and we are looking forward to really being able to add something really unique and sick to the mecca of action sports based jeans and apparel.
