Behind the Scene: What has Mike Murda Johnson been up to? - 07/06/27

1) Hey Mike, how are you doing and what have you been doing?

Whats the deal son! I been chillin in Philly. Skating, filming for the razors video and doing some graphic design work too, ya dig!?

2) How was the last Europe/Russia journey?

The last trip was fucking sick. I went to France, Germany, Russia, and scotland. I had mad fun because there was so many people on tour with us that I could chill with. (Dre, Fish, Haffey, Stockwell and Kato).

3) You moved to Philly last year, how is this working out?

Living in Philly is cool. Im close to NYC, so if i want to go home and see family i could. I skate with the Kelsos and Cheshire mostly. Definitly not complaining about having a good group of heads to session with.

4) In one of the last issues of Be-mag, there was an making-of Genre DVD...what is up with that baby?

There was some problems within the team and yada yada yada.. but the dvd will be coming out.

5) Are you still living together with Majette? What the hell is he doing?

This is my interview ass lol who cares what hes doing.

6) How is the scene in Philly now? Seams that there is at least a strong pro scene!?

Its rediculous. I just told you who i skate with everday. I don't think i need to say anymore about the subject.

7) Still ripping every thursday night at boarderline?

Nah its fucking summer time.. I skate street. I don't even think im going to borderline in the winter. Im tired of that skatepark.

8) What are your plans for the next time? Any journeys or events coming up for you?

Ummm Im probably going to go to Denver to skate with Aragon and finish up the Razors section. Then tour with AJ all the way to NYC while filming more and ending it with my birthday lol.

9) On myspace you are representing a B-Unique shirt, did you joined there squat?

No im not on the B-unique team. I think were in a time in skating were theres no room for bullshit companies and bullshit people in our industry holding us back. Im just reppin what i think is real in our industry.

10) Any shout-outs?

Shout out to my Jugs and everyone that reps Juggernaut...All my niggas in NYC...All my sponsors...All ya kids that support what we love to do...HOLLA!

Jomu- I live in Glasgow now so i dont skate Evolution much any more. I go home to visit my parents in Ardrossan every couple of weeks and sometimes i hit up a night session. I skate Unit23 on Thursday nights though but thats about it… the blading scene in Glasgow seems to have left me behind.

I like this alot and it is always good to see my bro MIKE doing his thing. This captured his funny personality with his classic sarcasm haha. I can’t wait to see who’s next.

Thats funny thats exactly what comes out in most of the blade videos. East coast videos always seem to have a more fun/chill atmosphere in general.

well done david, least someone round here has enough sense to ask the questions that are normally unasked.

thanks murda for providing more answers with more detail, than those in the actual i-view.

grand, nice try

I moved back to the east coast because I was living in cali for 4 years got old.. and we got kicked out the esco house aswell for partying to much lol.

Sometimes I find it hard to juggle between work and skating but skating comes first before anything.. my job is just a hobbie.. skating is my life.

Jug products we have coming out in the future.. Haffey Pro shoe…Insoles…We have new ideas for linears but we can’t talk about that yet hahah… Just expect a lot of quality shit coming from JUG ya dig.

I keep in contact with Dustin Halleran i was just with him in Kansas filming for razors video.. hes fucking sick!.. Boschi aswell.

The difference for me on skating between the east and the west is…Skating on the west is fun but it felt more as a job over there for me. On the east I have all my friends i grew up skating with so its bring back memories and shit so ofcourse Id prefer skating on the east. Its just more fun for me.

Why did you decide to move back to the easy coast?
What were the reasons for leaving California?
Do you find it hard to juggle work and skate life now that you are employed?
What Jug products are coming out in the near future?
Do you keep in touch with any of the old NYC skaters like Dustin Halleran or Boschi Pope?
What is the difference between skating in Cali and skating in NYC? Which do you prefer?

These questions couldn’t have been asked?
Oh well…
